How We Do Charity

The Bible is clear about our role in society as well as our duty as responsible stewards of the resources He's given us.

Every month, we give 10% of every purchase to a Christian non-profit. Each month is given a particular theme. You can check out our 12 themes below. Each of these agencies have several resources if you find a particular cause for which you're especially passionate. You do not have to wait until our month with a specific organization to get involved and we encourage you engage as the Lord presses upon your heart.

Bethany Christian Services is a global nonprofit organization that brings families together and keeps families together. Strengthening families for the well-being of children is our top priority. Our services include adoption, foster care, and pregnancy counseling. We also provide counseling to families, assist refugees and immigrants resettling in the U.S., and partner with several international countries to help keep families together. The work we do equips families to be the answer for children in need—as Christ intended.

www.samaritanspurse.org/what-we-do/water/

Samaritan's Purse is one of, if not the biggest, Christian charities around. They are involved in many ministries, but we wanted to focus on their water projects. An estimated 842,000 people die each year from diseases caused by unclean water, inadequate sanitation, and poor hygiene habits. The majority of these are children in developing countries. Providing clean water, coupled with health and hygiene education, is perhaps the most effective measure we can take in preventing infectious disease. Samaritan's Purse works around the world to provide clean water and promote safe hygiene practices.

Food for the Hungry's vision is broadly to see all forms of human poverty ended worldwide. One particular focus that excites us is that they develop exit strategies for the communities they serve so that they can be equipped for self-sustainability, including working with local experts to support and train farmers in best practices for agricultural success.

www.medicalteams.org

People in crisis are dying from preventable causes. Medical Teams International staff and volunteers are working to change that by bringing basic but life-saving medical care. Going where they’re needed most, they ease the suffering of those devastated by crises and mobilize staff and volunteers quickly – entering places of turmoil, disease, and natural disaster – to save lives and leave communities healthier.

www.habitat.org

Habitat for Humanity partners with people in your community, and all over the world, to help them build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With your support, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and for their families.
